“Hailey’s struggling,” explains the source. “She just needs time to sort things out on her own.”

The makeup mogul, 27, is still reeling from the “unbearable scrutiny” on social media after her father, Stephen Baldwin, reposted a message requesting prayers for Hailey and 30-year-old Justin, implying their five-year marriage was in trouble, explains the insider. Shortly after, she faced rumors that she was having an affair with a billionaire, which she insisted were concocted “out of thin air.”

All that has been compounded by health scares over the past few years, including Hailey’s ministroke and Justin’s diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which saw him canceling his tour and spending more time at home. Now, says the source, “Hailey just wants to live by herself for a while.”

The model previously opened up about a rough patch early in her marriage. “I called my mom … crying … like, ‘I just can’t do it,’” she said in 2021. “But I’ve loved this person for a very long time and now would not be the time to give up on him.”

She’s still not ready to give up, says the insider.

“Hailey’s not asking for a divorce. She knows Justin feels hurt and confused, but she feels lost too. She just needs a break.”
