Governor Uba Sani Reunites Kuriga Students with Families in Emotional Event

Emotions ran high in Kaduna as Governor Uba Sani orchestrated the heartwarming reunion of Kuriga students with their families. The event, held on Katuru Road in the State Capital, was a poignant moment filled with gratitude and relief.

Both the liberated students and their parents expressed their heartfelt thanks to the governor for his unwavering dedication to securing their freedom. The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdulkadir Meyere, reassured everyone of the administration’s commitment to ensuring that the students receive a quality education up to university level.

The community representative, Idris Abdullahi (Madakin Kuriga), also expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s tireless efforts in freeing the children and providing support to the community during moments of tension. He commended the government for its continuous engagement with the royal fathers of the community and the provision of much-needed assistance.

As the event unfolded, prayers were offered for an end to such tragic incidents, with resounding “Amens” echoing through the crowd. The Sarkin Kuriga extended gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his relentless pursuit of freedom for the children, acknowledging the cooperation of President Bola Tinubu, NSA Nuhu Ribadu, and security agents.

The Commissioner for Social Welfare, Rabi Salisu, expressed joy over the students’ release and looked forward to the Governor’s plan of taking them to Aso Rock Villa in the future. Representatives of the male and female students shared their gratitude and joy for the Governor’s efforts, with tears of relief and happiness flowing freely.

The formal handover of the 137 students to their parents came after a thorough psycho-social assessment to address any trauma or health challenges. The students were treated to a special Ramadan dinner at the Government House before reuniting with their families.

The event was attended by key officials, including the Chief of Staff to the Governor, commissioners of Internal Security and Human Services, and other dignitaries. The successful reunion was a testament to the power of unity, resilience, and unwavering support in the face of adversity.
