Niger State Commissioner of Police, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has made a heartfelt gesture by presenting cheques totaling N44.5 million to 38 families of deceased personnel from the Niger State Police Command. These brave officers lost their lives in the line of duty during the 2022-2023 year.

The presentation took place at the Niger State Police Command’s end-of-the-month conference at the Police Officers’ Mess in Minna. Commissioner Danmamman, representing the Inspector General of Police, handed over the cheques as a token of appreciation and support to the families who have suffered the ultimate sacrifice.

In a touching moment, Danmamman expressed his condolences to the families, acknowledging the sacrifices made by their loved ones. He emphasized that the gesture was part of the Group Life Assurance Scheme of the Force, aimed at providing some relief to the next of kin of the fallen heroes. He urged the families to use the token wisely to improve their standard of living and find solace in the Lord.

Additionally, the Commissioner of Police recognized the dedication and hard work of 17 personnel from the Command who were deployed to ensure orderliness and security at the recent NYSC Orientation Camp for the 2024 Batch A, Stream One orientation exercise in Minna. These officers received commendation letters from the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Abdulwahab Olayinka, for their outstanding service despite facing challenges.

Among the personnel honored were ASP Shuaibu Abdulkadir, ASP Istifanus Yakubu, inspectors Mafuyai Yak, Nasiru Danlami, Sule Rahman, Mustapha Ndagi, Salihu Mohammed, and Magret John, among others. ASP Shuaibu Abdulkadir, speaking on behalf of the team, expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police for the opportunity to serve and promised to continue their dedication to duty.

This act of recognition and support highlights the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and the dedication of those who serve their communities selflessly. It serves as a reminder of the risks faced by those in uniform and the gratitude owed to them for their service.
