The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has reassured both residents and visitors of the state that the police force is fully prepared to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter celebration. This commitment comes with a significant deployment of officers across the state, as announced by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.

In a statement released on Friday, the Commissioner of Police instructed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Commanders of various Tactical Teams to increase their presence throughout the state. Their primary focus is to prevent, combat, and respond to serious and violent crimes during the Easter holiday period and beyond.

The police force will be conducting special crime awareness and prevention operations targeted at common crimes during the festive season. The public is urged to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and actively support law enforcement efforts in their communities to combat criminal activities during Easter.

Additional deployments have been made from the Department of Operations, including Tactical teams like Dragon Patrol, RRS, CP-Decoy, Raiders Squad, Safe Delta, Safer Highway Patrol, Eagle-Net Special Squad, Crack Squad, and the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad. Officers will also be stationed at worship centers and resort areas to ensure safety.

CP Olufemi Abaniwonda emphasized that the Command will intensify its crime-fighting efforts not only during Easter but also in the future. All officers will be on high alert, collaborating closely with other agencies to safeguard the well-being of the law-abiding residents in the state.
