Stefano Pioli explains starting Samuel Chukwueze in AC Milan’s win

AC Milan’s manager, Stefano Pioli, shed light on his decision to start Samuel Chukwueze in their recent victory against Fiorentina. Chukwueze, who joined the team from Villarreal last summer, has faced challenges adjusting to life at the San Siro.

Despite this, Pioli opted to include the 24-year-old in the starting line-up, a move that paid off as Milan secured a 2-1 win. Pioli commended Chukwueze for his recent improvement and adaptation to the team.

In a post-match interview, Pioli revealed that another player, Christian, was not fully fit and preferred to play a limited role in the game. This opened the door for Chukwueze to showcase his skills on the field.

“Chukwueze was working well. He had a bit of difficulty fitting in initially, but he’s fine now. He’s a quality player,” Pioli stated.

Despite his slow start, Chukwueze has managed to contribute one goal and one assist in 18 league appearances for AC Milan. His performance against Fiorentina highlights his potential and the impact he can have on the team moving forward.

Overall, Pioli’s decision to start Chukwueze proved to be a wise one, showcasing the player’s talent and determination to succeed at his new club.
