In a disturbing incident in the Uwa area of Oredo Local Government Area in Edo State, a suspect identified as Promise is being sought by the Edo State Police Command for allegedly raping a 13-year-old minor to a state of unconsciousness.
The harrowing event unfolded when the suspect lured the young girl into his room, where he proceeded to rape her before abandoning her in her unconscious state and fleeing the scene. The gravity of the situation prompted the victim’s mother to report the incident to the divisional police officer in charge of Adesuwa Police Station in Benin on March 27.
SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesperson for the state command, confirmed the incident and revealed that the victim was promptly taken to the Edo State Specialist Hospital for medical attention. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the suspect and ensure that justice is served.
