South Africa’s national women’s football team, Banyana Banyana, is gearing up for a crucial Olympic Games qualifier against Nigeria, and head coach Desiree Ellis is thrilled to have three key players back in the squad. Bambanani Mbane, Refiloe Jane, and Sibulele Holweni are making their return since the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, bringing valuable experience to the team.

Ellis emphasized the importance of having a mix of experienced players and talented young stars in the squad. The first leg of the qualifier will be hosted by Nigeria at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, with the return leg taking place at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria. The winner of this contest will secure a spot in Group C at the Olympic Games in Paris, alongside Brazil, Japan, and Spain.
