A 38-year-old physically challenged man named Adamu Ileyasu has been apprehended by police officers while en route to distribute illicit drugs to sellers in the Oshodi area of Lagos.

The suspect was found in possession of a bag containing numerous quantities of cannabis sativa, also known as marijuana.

He is believed to operate as a middleman between larger drug dealers and distributors.

The arrest took place following surveillance by officers from the Akinpelu Police Division, who had been monitoring the suspect due to his involvement in various drug transactions within the locality.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest, stating that the physically challenged man was apprehended along Araromi Street, Oshodi.

According to Hundeyin, the police received information from concerned citizens regarding the suspect’s drug dealing activities, leading to the search and subsequent discovery of 22 parcels of marijuana, Tramadol capsules, and other illicit substances in his possession.

“In his confessional statement, he admitted receiving his supply from a man he identified as Chairman who is now at large,” he said.
