Yemi Elesho Reveals Asake’s Struggle with Old Friends After Stardom

Yemi Elesho, a well-known skit maker and content creator, recently shared some insights into the changing dynamics of relationships in the life of rising music star Asake. According to Elesho, Asake’s friends from his early days as a struggling artist have been expressing their disappointment at his lack of response to their messages.

Elesho, who was a university mate of Asake at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, revealed that during their time in school, Asake faced financial challenges and relied on the generosity of friends for accommodation. However, since achieving fame and success, Asake seems to have distanced himself from these friends.

In a recent interview with Echo Room, Elesho acknowledged that it is natural for Asake to prioritize certain relationships over others as he navigates his newfound stardom. He explained, “Asake is now a big name in the industry, and it’s understandable that he may not be able to maintain close ties with all his old friends.”

Asake’s career took a significant leap forward when he signed with YBNL Nation in February 2022. Shortly after, he released his debut extended play, ‘Ololade,’ which included the hit song ‘Omo Ope’ featuring Olamide, as well as the single ‘Sungba.’

The story of Asake’s journey from a struggling artist to a rising star serves as a reminder of the complexities of fame and success, and the impact it can have on personal relationships. Asake’s story resonates with many in the industry, highlighting the challenges of balancing newfound success with loyalty to old friends.

Asake’s experience serves as a compelling narrative of growth and transformation in the competitive world of music, shedding light on the sacrifices and choices that come with achieving fame. His story is a testament to the realities of the entertainment industry and the importance of staying true to oneself amidst the pressures of success.
