Nursing Mother and Newborn Held Over Unpaid Hospital Bill Urgent

A heart-wrenching story has emerged from the bustling city of Ibadan, Nigeria, where a nursing mother and her newborn baby are being held at Montana Medical Centre over an unpaid delivery bill of N300,000. Mrs. Adenike Samuel, a resident of Ibadan, gave birth to her baby through a Caesarean Section (CS) and was discharged on April 1. However, due to her husband’s inability to pay the full hospital bill, they have been unable to leave the medical facility.

Mrs. Samuel, a talented tailor and mother of two, shared her distressing situation, explaining that her husband, Happiness Samuel, a commercial motorcyclist, was only able to pay N100,000 of the N400,000 bill. With a balance of N300,000 looming over them, the family is reaching out to well-meaning individuals and Governor Seyi Makinde for financial assistance.

In a plea for help, Mrs. Samuel provided her account details for Eco Bank (3880058997) and Opay (9042924437), urging anyone touched by their plight to come to their aid. The couple is facing immense hardship, with Mr. Samuel expressing the challenges of meeting the remaining balance in the current economic climate.

This heartbreaking story sheds light on the struggles faced by many families in Nigeria, where access to quality healthcare can often come at a high cost. As Mrs. Samuel and her newborn baby await assistance, their story serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion and support in times of need. Let us come together to help this family in their time of desperation.
