The Zamfara Government is taking a significant step towards improving education in the state by announcing plans to recruit 2,000 English and Science teachers. This initiative, revealed by Wadatau Madawaki, the state Commissioner for Science and Technology, aims to enhance the teaching and learning process in Zamfara.

The recruitment of teachers is part of the government’s commitment to prioritizing education and addressing the shortage of English language and Science subjects teachers in schools across the state. Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration has placed a special emphasis on revitalizing the education sector, with a focus on providing quality education for all students.

The announcement was made during a stakeholders’ meeting on the “Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project,” a World Bank-assisted initiative aimed at providing secondary education opportunities for adolescent boys and girls aged between 10 and 20 years.

Madawaki emphasized the government’s readiness to support the AGILE Project and ensure its success in Zamfara. The project is expected to benefit over 57,000 adolescent boys and girls in the state, with the goal of bringing positive changes to their future education.

In addition to the teacher recruitment initiative, the government is also focused on promoting teachers’ welfare and providing incentives to enhance their capacity and improve their working conditions. Muhammad Anka, Chairman of the State Teachers’ Service Board, praised the government’s commitment to the education sector and assured continued support for teachers.

Sa’adatu Abdu-Gusau, the State Coordinator of the AGILE project, expressed gratitude to the World Bank and the Federal Ministry of Education for selecting Zamfara as one of the benefiting states. She called for the support of all stakeholders to help the project achieve its goals and objectives in the state.

This initiative underscores the government’s dedication to improving education in Zamfara and ensuring a brighter future for the state’s students. By recruiting more teachers and supporting educational initiatives like AGILE, Zamfara is taking a significant step towards providing quality education for all.
