Minister Nyesom Wike of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, recently expressed his appreciation for the patience shown by residents amidst ongoing infrastructure projects in the area. During his inspection of various projects in Abuja, he commended the community for their support and sacrifices.

Acknowledging the inconveniences caused by road diversions and traffic due to the ongoing projects, Mr. Wike assured residents that some of the projects would be completed by May, coinciding with President Bola Tinubu’s one-year anniversary in office. He highlighted the progress on the Goodluck Jonathan Highway and Guzape Lot II, emphasizing the commitment to timely completion and quality infrastructure.

While some projects like the Diplomatic Zone in Guzape may take longer to complete, the minister assured residents that funds would be allocated to ensure their timely delivery. He also praised Tinubu for signing the FCT 2024 appropriations into law, enabling significant advancements in infrastructure, health, and education sectors.

In addressing critics, Mr. Wike urged residents to focus on acknowledging government improvements rather than constant condemnation. He emphasized the challenges of repairing vandalized infrastructure and dismissed detractors as “sadists” who fail to recognize progress.

Overall, the minister’s visit highlighted the government’s dedication to enhancing the FCT’s infrastructure and quality of life for its residents. With a focus on completion timelines and quality assurance, the ongoing projects aim to transform Abuja into a modern and efficient city.
