APC Chairman Emegha Welcomes Defectors in Ebonyi State with Equal Treatment

Ebonyi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has welcomed over 3000 defectors from various political parties with open arms. The defection rally, held at Isiaka in Ivo Local Government headquarters, saw loyalists of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, making the switch from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Leading the pack of defectors were Hon. Livinus Makwe, a former PDP member of the House of Representatives, and Prince Igwe Nwabueze, the deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 general election from the Labour Party, LP. They were joined by others from the National Rescue Movement (NRM).

Emegha emphasized that the APC is a party of inclusivity, welcoming anyone with genuine intentions to join their ranks. He praised the state governor, Francis Nwifuru, for his leadership that has inspired the wave of defections, citing the positive impact on the citizens and visitors of Ebonyi State.

The APC Chairman encouraged unity and forgiveness among members, highlighting the need for more people to join the party and benefit from the good governance provided by Governor Nwifuru. Emegha expressed confidence in the one-party system under the leadership of a capable governor, stating that opposition parties have collapsed in support of the Nwifuru-led government.

During the event, the Ivo council Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Ajah, expressed his satisfaction with the unity brought by the APC in Ivo LGA. He assured the defectors of equal treatment and emphasized the importance of everyone playing their part in improving the state.

In their speeches, Hon. Livinus Makwe and Igwe Nwabueze thanked the council Chairman, Ajah, for his inclusive approach and credited their decision to join the APC to the all-inclusive administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru. They commended the state APC Chairman, Emegha, and Governor Nwifuru for their leadership that has inspired them to switch parties.
