Beware of Scammers NAHCON Warns 2024 Hajj Pilgrims Against Extra

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, is sending out a strong warning to all intending pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj. In a recent release, the Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara, emphasized the importance of vigilance and caution when it comes to dealing with requests for extra payments of fares.

According to Usara, any individual who approaches pilgrims with demands for additional Hajj fares should be immediately flagged as a scammer. The Commission has made it clear that they have not authorized any extra administrative charges beyond the standard amount. Any such requests should be reported to the authorities without hesitation.

Usara further stated that the collection of extra charges is strictly prohibited, and any pilgrim who is asked to pay more than the designated amount should report the incident immediately. Pilgrims are advised to provide the name of the person making the request, their location, and any evidence of the request or payment to the security and the Commission.

To ensure swift action, pilgrims can forward all relevant documents to a dedicated WhatsApp number: 09071800007. It is crucial for all pilgrims to stay informed and follow official announcements from NAHCON, which are regularly updated on their website. By staying alert and protecting themselves, pilgrims can safeguard against potential scams and fraudulent activities.

In conclusion, the message from NAHCON is clear: do not entertain any requests for extra payments of Hajj fares. By remaining vigilant and following the guidelines provided by the Commission, pilgrims can ensure a safe and secure journey to fulfill their religious obligations.
