Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has recently disclosed that he has not received any offers from other clubs following the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire. Despite being linked with a potential move away from his current club, Chippa United in South Africa, Nwabali has not been approached by any interested parties.
Rumors had circulated that Sky Bet Championship club Queens Park Rangers, Saudi Arabia Professional Football outfit Al Ettifaq, Belgian Pro League side Union St Gilloise, and South African giants Kaizer Chiefs were all eyeing the talented shot-stopper. However, Nwabali clarified that no club has directly contacted him or his representatives regarding a transfer.
In an interview with FARPost, the 27-year-old expressed his uncertainty about his future, stating, “Maybe those clubs might have spoken to my team or my manager. But at this point, we can’t do anything. And they can’t approach me because it would be unprofessional. They must go to my club or my manager. So I don’t know if there’s something on the table maybe waiting for towards summer or transfer window. You know most clubs always do this. When they show interest, you’re opening the way to some other clubs. So, some people always keep it a secret, and when they get you, they get you once. For now, I know nothing.”
Despite the lack of concrete offers, Nwabali remains focused on his performances on the pitch. He played a crucial role in Nigeria’s impressive second-place finish at AFCON 2023, showcasing his talent and potential on the international stage.
As the transfer window approaches, the future of Stanley Nwabali remains uncertain. Will he stay at Chippa United or make a move to one of the clubs rumored to be interested in his services? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
