Former Benue State governor Gabriel Suswam’s bid for the national chairmanship received a significant boost as Concerned Benue Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders officially endorsed his candidacy. The endorsement came during a meeting in Makurdi, Benue State, where Chairman of the Stakeholders, Dr. Paul Ubwa, announced their decision to rally support for Suswam.
According to Dr. Ubwa, the decision to support Suswam stems from the party’s constitution, which allows a candidate from the same region as the former office holder to succeed them. In this case, Suswam hails from Benue and the Middle Belt, much like the previous office holder.
Former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Nicholas Ada, who spoke at the event, emphasized the importance of endorsing Suswam, highlighting his adherence to due process in pursuing the chairmanship position. Ada noted that Suswam’s leadership would rejuvenate the party and restore it to its former glory.
The endorsement of Suswam by PDP stakeholders signifies a united front in Benue State, with party members pledging their unwavering support for his candidacy. As the only candidate to have followed the proper procedures in seeking the national chairmanship, Suswam’s leadership is seen as a beacon of hope for the party’s resurgence.
In endorsing Suswam, the stakeholders believe that his chairmanship will not only elevate the party but also position it for success in the future. With overwhelming support from party members in his senatorial district and beyond, Suswam’s candidacy represents a new chapter for the PDP, promising a revitalized and reinvigorated political force.
Through their endorsement of Gabriel Suswam, the Concerned Benue PDP Stakeholders are paving the way for a brighter future for the party, setting the stage for a dynamic and impactful leadership that will steer the PDP towards greater heights.
