Arik Air Clarifies Stranded Passengers Incident at Port Harcourt Airport

Arik Air has addressed the recent incident that left passengers stranded at Port Harcourt Airport on April 2, attributing it to adverse weather conditions. In a statement released by the airline’s Public Relations Manager, Adebanji Ola, Arik Air emphasized its commitment to passenger safety, explaining that the cancellation of the flight was necessary due to inclement weather.

Videos circulating online showed frustrated passengers expressing their disappointment after their flight to Lagos was abruptly cancelled. Despite the backlash, Arik Air stood by its decision, prioritizing the well-being of its customers above all else.

The airline extended its apologies to those affected by the unforeseen circumstances, assuring them that alternative arrangements were made promptly. Passengers were informed of the situation and advised to return the following day for re-booking on available flights.

On April 3, all affected passengers from both Lagos and Port Harcourt were successfully accommodated on morning and evening flights, dispelling claims of passengers being left stranded at the airport. Arik Air clarified that the video footage circulating online may have misrepresented the situation, highlighting the challenges faced during adverse weather conditions.
