Former Governor of Rivers State, Sir Celestine Omehia, has issued a stern warning to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, urging him to curb his hunger for power and allow Governor Siminalayi Fubara to carry out his duties effectively.

In a statement released to Media Talk Africa, Omehia criticized Wike for his relentless pursuit of power, which he believes is causing turmoil and instability in the region. The former governor’s comments come in response to a recent live television interview hosted by Wike in Abuja, where he referred to PDP leaders in Rivers State as “expired politicians and buccaneers” for supporting Fubara.

Omehia condemned Wike’s outbursts as a sign of a confused mind, suggesting that Wike’s anger stems from his failed attempt at securing a third term in office. He accused Wike of prioritizing personal ambition over the interests of Rivers State and the South-South region as a whole.

“The FCT Minister believed he could continue to manipulate the resources and governance of the state, but the people, with the help of God, thwarted his impeachment plans,” Omehia stated. He went on to criticize Wike for his habit of lying and disrespecting elders, labeling him as inconsistent and unreliable.

Omehia questioned Wike’s motives for attacking those who support the Governor and the Federal Government, suggesting that Wike’s behavior borders on madness. He advised Wike to focus on his responsibilities in Abuja, as the state does not miss his disruptive presence.
