The Federal Government has announced that Tuesday, 9th, and Wednesday, 10th of April, 2024 will be public holidays to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr. This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government, to congratulate the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of Ramadan.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of embodying values such as kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him). The minister urged all Nigerians to uphold unity to foster peace and harmony in the country.

The Ministry’s permanent secretary, Aishetu Gogo-Ndayako, echoed the call for unity and encouraged Nigerians to continue working together towards a more peaceful and united nation.

As the Eid-el-Fitr celebration approaches, the government wishes all Muslim Ummah a joyous and blessed occasion, with prayers for the peace, blessings, and favor of Allah upon everyone.
