Enugu State Police Commissioner Issues Quit Order to Criminal Elements

Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has issued a stern ultimatum to remaining criminal elements in the state: leave town or face the consequences. In a bold move to eradicate crime, Uzuegbu declared that there would be no mercy shown in the mission to completely rid the state of these offenders.

The Commissioner made this declaration during a visit to Adani in Uzo-Uwani LGA, following the brutal murder of two brothers, Mr. Ogbonna Fidelis Anene, 33, and Ogbonna John Onyeka, 25, who were ambushed on their way back from the farm. Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incident, CP Kanayo assured the community that a specialized police team was already on the trail of the perpetrators, determined to bring them to justice. Additionally, security measures in the area have been reinforced to prevent further violence.

Acknowledging the proactive stance of Governor Peter Mbah in maintaining security within the state, the Commissioner praised the government’s commitment to eliminating criminal activities. He urged the residents of Adani to carry on with their daily activities, assuring them of the unwavering support and protection of law enforcement agencies both at home and in their agricultural lands.

Despite the assurance of safety, CP Kanayo emphasized the importance of vigilance among the populace, urging them to report any suspicious individuals or criminal behavior to the authorities. He reiterated the government’s firm stance on delivering justice for the slain brothers, vowing to make Enugu State a hostile environment for criminals.

In response to the Commissioner’s visit, the Town Union President General, Emmanuel Utazi, along with other community leaders, expressed gratitude for the show of solidarity and promised to cooperate with security forces. While praising Governor Mbah for the significant reduction in violent crimes across the state, they called for increased attention to Uzo Uwani due to its expansive farmlands and border location.

As the people of Adani prepare to resume their farming activities, they do so with renewed confidence in the protection provided by the government and law enforcement agencies. The resolve to uphold peace and security in Enugu State remains steadfast, with a collective determination to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
