2023 Oshimili South PDP Candidate Returns to Party, Promises Loyalty

In a surprising turn of events, Mr. Clement Odukwe, a 2023 House of Assembly candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in Oshimili South local government area of Delta State, has made a bold decision to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Odukwe, who hails from ward 2, had initially defected from the PDP to the LP before the general election. However, he was warmly received back into the PDP fold by the LGA party chairman, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, during the monthly meeting held on Sunday.

Okonji highlighted the issue of impatience as a factor that led some PDP members to leave the party, emphasizing that the PDP remains the dominant political party in Oshimili South. He urged party leaders to reach out to disenchanted members and those who had strayed for trivial reasons, assuring them that the PDP is inclusive and welcoming to all.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Odukwe reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the PDP, acknowledging that he belonged with the party. He expressed confidence in the party’s internal democracy and its ability to safeguard the interests of its members.

The decision by Odukwe to return to the PDP serves as a reminder of the dynamic nature of politics and the importance of unity within political parties. As the PDP continues to strengthen its ranks, the return of members like Odukwe signifies a renewed sense of solidarity and purpose within the party.

Overall, Odukwe’s return to the PDP underscores the resilience and adaptability of political alliances, showcasing the ever-evolving landscape of Nigerian politics. As the PDP embraces its returning members, it reinforces its position as a formidable force in Oshimili South and beyond.
