Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum, is setting his sights on the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, as he pushes for his team to train in Europe to ensure they are fully prepared for the challenge ahead.
After securing their spot in the Olympics with a hard-fought 1-0 aggregate victory over South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, the nine-time African champions are now gearing up to face off against world champions Spain, Japan, and Brazil in Group C.
Waldrum is under no illusions about the tough competition that lies ahead, emphasizing the need for his team to be at their best in order to compete with the top teams in their group.
Speaking after the crucial win over Banyana Banyana, Waldrum stressed the importance of proper preparation, stating, “My plea is to help us prepare properly. We need to camp in Europe, have proper training, transportation, and do things right. Every team at the Olympics is top-notch, it’s like the World Cup, we’re in the ‘Group of Death’.”
With the coach’s determination and the team’s talent, the Super Falcons are ready to take on the world’s best in Paris. Stay tuned for updates on their journey to Olympic glory.
