Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has delivered a powerful message to Muslims nationwide, urging them to embrace the profound teachings of Ramadan beyond just the physical aspects of fasting. Speaking after his prayers on Eid-el-Fitr in Okene, Kogi State, Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of spiritual growth, compassion, and unity.

“The month of Ramadan goes beyond mere abstinence from food and drink. It is a time for self-reflection, patience, empathy, and love towards one another,” Governor Ododo expressed. “As we conclude this sacred month, let us carry forward the values of kindness, generosity, and understanding in our daily lives. Let us remember the less fortunate and extend a helping hand to those in need.”

Addressing the recent tragic incident in Omala Local Government that resulted in loss of lives, Governor Ododo assured the public that the suspected instigators have been apprehended. He emphasized the government’s commitment to restoring peace in the region, acknowledging the longstanding conflict in Bagana dating back to 1978.

“In response to the recent unrest, we have taken swift action to apprehend the suspected sponsors. Our investigations are ongoing, and we are receiving valuable information that will lead to the arrest of other suspects. Transparency is key, and once our investigation is complete, the findings will be shared with the public,” Governor Ododo affirmed.

Governor Ododo’s call for unity, compassion, and justice resonates not only within Kogi State but also across the nation. As we reflect on the lessons of Ramadan, let us strive to embody these values in our interactions with others, fostering a more harmonious and inclusive society.
