Minister of Interior Denies Tinubu’s Alleged Appointment in Ondo State

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has vehemently denied reports suggesting that President Bola Tinubu has endorsed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State as his favored candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial election on November 16th.

In a statement released by Babatunde Alao, the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, in Abuja, the claims were dismissed as false and baseless. Alao specifically refuted the article published by Blueprint Newspaper titled “Tinubu appoints Tunji-Ojo political leader in Ondo State,” labeling it as entirely fictitious.

“Tunji-Ojo completely disassociates himself from the alleged appointment as it lacks any semblance of truth,” Alao emphasized. He clarified that no meeting took place in Abuja between the Minister and APC officials from the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, as insinuated in the article.

With the party’s gubernatorial primary election looming, Alao stated that the Minister has urged aspirants to embrace a spirit of camaraderie and fair play. He highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to fostering unity and peace, emphasizing that the leader’s actions are always guided by democratic principles.

Alao urged the public to disregard the misinformation circulating in the viral news article and advised seeking information from credible sources for accurate updates.
