In a statement released in Yenagoa, spokesperson Amb Binebai Princewill expressed concern over the recent targeting of Ijaw lands and prominent leaders by the military.

One particular case that has sparked outrage is the arrest of Amb. Chief Sobomabo Jackrich, a former Rivers State Governorship candidate and respected leader in the Ijaw community. The IYC is demanding answers regarding his whereabouts and the reasons for his detention.

The Ijaw people, known for their contributions to the country’s growth and development, refuse to be treated as second-class citizens. The recent incidents of invasion, harassment, and arrests have left the community in shock and disbelief.
