Marrakech police have made a significant arrest, capturing a 35-year-old French national wanted for serious crimes including deliberate homicide and international drug trafficking. Acting on precise information from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, authorities apprehended the suspect, who was the subject of international arrest warrants issued by French judicial authorities.

The arrest was made possible through a cross-reference with Interpol’s database, confirming the individual’s status as a wanted person with a ‘red notice’ issued against him. This notice was in connection to prison sentences for cocaine trafficking and involvement in a homicide related to drug trafficking disputes in France.

In addition to these charges, the French national is also suspected of forgery. Upon searching his residence in Marrakech, police discovered forged identity documents, both French and foreign, containing his personal information.

The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office. The National Central Bureau (Interpol Office in Rabat) is working to inform French authorities and initiate the extradition process.

This arrest highlights the strong international security cooperation between Morocco and France, demonstrating the Moroccan security services’ commitment to apprehending individuals involved in transnational crime.
