The Plateau State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against crime by apprehending 66 individuals suspected to be members of the notorious Sara Suka cult group. These arrests come after a series of terrorizing incidents that have plagued the residents of the state.

During the recent Sallah celebration, the police conducted strategic operations that led to the successful apprehension of these suspects at various locations. The State Commissioner of Police, Hassan Yabanet, emphasized the commitment of the command to safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens.

In a press briefing, Commissioner Yabanet highlighted the peaceful nature of the Eid-El-Fitr celebration in the state, attributing it to the effective deployment of security measures. The seized exhibits from the suspects included machetes, daggers, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, tricycles, motorcycles, and illicit substances.

Additionally, two individuals were arrested in Wase LGA for armed robbery, further underscoring the zero-tolerance stance of the Plateau State Police Command towards lawlessness. Commissioner Yabanet urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and wards to prevent them from engaging in criminal activities.

The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will soon face charges in court. The Commissioner reiterated the importance of the media’s support for the Nigeria Police Force in maintaining law and order in the state.
