In the past week, a significant number of terrorists have been neutralized and arrested in operations across the northern regions of Nigeria. A total of 188 terrorists were killed, and 330 were apprehended by the Nigerian military. Additionally, 133 kidnapped individuals were rescued during these operations.
Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, highlighted these achievements in a statement, emphasizing the military’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety of citizens. Furthermore, in efforts to combat oil theft, 36 suspects were arrested, and stolen crude oil worth N637 million was recovered. The military also uncovered and destroyed various illegal oil refining sites, boats, storage tanks, and other equipment used in criminal activities.
During these operations, a significant number of weapons and ammunition were seized, including AK47 rifles, locally fabricated guns, grenades, and improvised explosive devices. The military’s relentless efforts have resulted in the elimination of numerous terrorist leaders and the recovery of substantial amounts of stolen goods.
