The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced a groundbreaking achievement in revenue collection, reaching an impressive milestone of N12.3 trillion in 2023. This remarkable success was highlighted by FIRS Chief Executive, Zacch Adedeji, during the FIRS special day at the 35th Enugu International Trade Fair.

Represented by FIRS staff member, Mrs. Aisha Ribadu, Adedeji attributed this unprecedented progress to the organization’s commitment to nurturing and empowering its workforce. By equipping employees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools, FIRS has been able to excel in revenue collection.

Adedeji expressed gratitude to the Enugu State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ECCIMA) for selecting the theme “Promoting Made-in-Nigeria Products for Global Competitiveness.” This theme reflects the collective ambition to not only dominate the African market but also establish a strong presence on the global stage.

The FIRS boss emphasized the importance of investing in human capital for sustainable development. He noted that nations prioritizing human development are more likely to experience long-lasting growth and prosperity.

This significant achievement by FIRS underscores the organization’s dedication to excellence and its commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth. With a focus on empowering its workforce and promoting local products globally, FIRS is setting a high standard for revenue collection and economic development in Nigeria.
