Saraki congratulates Tems on Grammy award win

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has congratulated Nigeria’s first female Grammy award-winning singer, Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems.

The former Senate president, in a tweet on his official Twitter handle on Monday, said ”Congratulations to the trailblazing Tems @temsbaby for making history as the first female Nigerian artist to receive a Grammy Award.

”Honored in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for her amazing contribution to “Wait for U” ft. Future & Drake. Nigeria is proud of your success.”

Recall that Tems had won the 2023 Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance category for her role in the 2022 hit song by Future, featuring Drake’s Wait for U’.

The 65th annual Grammy award was held on Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, U.S.
