Gunmen targeted Terwase Orbunde, an All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Benue for the 2023 race, in a violent attack that resulted in the abduction of his wife and house help. Orbunde, who serves as the chief of staff to former Governor Samuel Ortom, narrowly escaped with a gunshot wound to his right arm during the assault.

The incident occurred as Orbunde and his household members were returning from their farm in Benue’s capital city.
