Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has raised alarm over the recent surge in kidnapping cases within the state. In an emergency security council meeting held in Lafia, the governor expressed deep concern and emphasized the need to address this growing threat.

During his absence for the lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia, Governor Sule noted a disturbing increase in kidnapping incidents in areas such as Keffi, Doma, Lafia, Awe, Obi, Keana, Karu, and Nasarawa Local Government Areas. Additionally, there has been a rise in militia activities terrorizing innocent civilians, particularly in Shegye, Katakpa, and surrounding villages in Toto Local Government Area.

The governor highlighted the importance of addressing these security challenges promptly and effectively. He also commended his Deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, for his exemplary leadership in managing state affairs during his absence.

Governor Sule reiterated the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards ethnic group vigilantes and emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation in maintaining peace and security. He extended his gratitude to the security agencies for their relentless efforts in safeguarding the state and preventing further escalation of security threats.

As the state grapples with these pressing issues, Governor Sule remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
