Nollywood Makeup Artist Abigail Frederick Laid to Rest in Akwa Ibom State

The late 24-year-old Nollywood makeup artist, Abigail Fredrick, was laid to rest in her hometown of Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State. Tragically, Frederick was one of five film crew members, including actor Junior Pope, who lost their lives in a boat accident on the River Niger.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, made sure that Frederick’s body was brought back to the state for a proper burial after initially being buried by the riverbank. Following the governor’s orders, her body was exhumed on Sunday, April 14, 2024, and a candlelight procession was held in her honor.

The funeral service, conducted by the Church of Christ in Ikot Udoma, was attended by various dignitaries, including Eket Transition Committee Chairman Akaniyene Tommey, Commissioner for Tourism Charles Udoh, SA on Entertainment Moses Eskor, Godfada Uko, Nollywood actress Eve Esin, and members of the Eket Transition Committee. The Nollywood community, friends, and sympathizers also paid their respects.

It was a somber day as Abigail Fredrick was laid to rest, surrounded by loved ones and colleagues from the entertainment industry. May she rest in peace.
