Ododo Students Support 2024: Online Bursary Award Registration Portal Unveiled

The Kogi Scholarship Board, KSSB, has recently launched an online portal for Bursary Award registration for students of Kogi origin studying in tertiary institutions across the country. The bursary award, named “Ododo Students Support 2024”, aims to provide financial assistance to students facing economic hardships.

Executive Chairman of KSSB, Afolabi Joseph-Raji, emphasized the importance of eligible candidates registering on the official portal before the deadline on April 30. He assured that the registration process is free, seamless, and transparent, with thousands of students already applying for the bursary award.

The initiative is part of the state’s efforts to support students and alleviate the financial burden on parents during challenging economic times. The data collected through the registration process will help in planning and budgeting for future bursary payments.

State Commissioner for Education, Mr. Wemi Jones, highlighted the governor’s commitment to supporting students in achieving their educational goals. The reintroduction of the bursary award aligns with the state’s 10-year Education Development Strategic Plan, aimed at improving access to quality education and reducing poverty in Kogi.

Special Adviser to the governor on Youth and Students’ Matters, Oladele John-Nihi, commended the board for its transparency and urged students to seize this opportunity by enrolling in large numbers within the specified timeframe. President of the National Association of Kogi State Students, Jeremiah Elukpo, expressed gratitude to the governor for prioritizing students’ welfare in the state.

The initiative signifies a step towards empowering students and investing in the future of Kogi State. Eligible students are encouraged to take advantage of this support and secure their financial assistance through the online registration process.
