The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State is stepping up its efforts to combat rising insecurity, with the Commandant, Umar Mohammed, urging citizens to be vigilant and support their initiatives.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new Divisional office in Ipee town, Oyun Local Government Area, Umar emphasized the importance of collective security responsibility. He called on all residents to work together, share information, and actively participate in keeping their communities safe.
The decision to upgrade the outpost to a full-fledged operational divisional office was prompted by the recent surge in security challenges in the state. Umar believes that this move will enhance the corps’ operational efficiency and help mitigate potential threats to peace and stability.
Acknowledging the support of project financier, Olayiwola Oyebode, Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, and the dedicated residents of Ipee, Umar commended their commitment to the successful completion of the project.
Assuring the community of his unwavering dedication, Commandant Umar pledged to address security issues within and around Ipee, creating a safer environment for all residents. The Deputy Speaker, Olayiwola Oyebode, also expressed gratitude to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his contributions to crime reduction in the state.
In a show of appreciation, the Onipe of Ipee, Oba Lawal Mufutau Adebayo Titiloye III, lauded the NSCDC for its continuous efforts in safeguarding the community.
