The Socialist Party of Nigeria (SPN) is mourning the loss of Comrade Ebunoluwa Famuti, their former deputy gubernatorial candidate, who passed away at the age of 55. Famuti, a dedicated member of the SPN and a staff of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Oyo State, was laid to rest in her hometown of Uso in Ondo State.

In a heartfelt statement released by the party’s state secretary, Comrade Ayodeji Adigun, Famuti was remembered as a passionate advocate for social justice and a staunch supporter of the socialist movement. She played a vital role in the SPN’s 2019 election campaign, offering her vehicle for campaign use and actively participating in party activities and community outreach efforts.

Comrade Ebunoluwa’s commitment to the socialist cause and her unwavering dedication to fighting for a more just society will be dearly missed. The SPN extends its deepest condolences to her family, colleagues at NULGE, and all those who knew and admired her.

As we mourn the loss of Comrade Ebunoluwa Famuti, let us honor her memory by continuing the struggle for a socialist transformation of Nigeria’s state and economy. Together, we can work towards building a better society, one that reflects the values and ideals she so passionately believed in.
