Abdulazeez Ganduje Supports Anti-Corruption Drive Against Family

Abdulazeez Ganduje, the son of the suspended national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, recently made a significant gesture by visiting the chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Rimingado. This visit, which took place at Mr. Rimingado’s office, was a show of solidarity and support for the chairman’s anti-corruption efforts.

Sources within the commission revealed that Abdulazeez not only visited to encourage Mr. Rimingado but also expressed his backing for the charges filed against his own family members, including his father, mother, and brother. In a surprising turn of events, Abdulazeez even raised concerns about his removal as a director of a company involved in the ongoing trial, claiming it was done without his consent.

This development comes after Abdulazeez previously filed a petition with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against his mother, Hafsat Ganduje, alleging corruption. In the petition, he detailed a transaction where he paid a substantial sum to his mother for the acquisition of land, only to later discover that the plots had been allocated to other buyers. This led to a request for a refund from the property developer.

The Kano anti-corruption commission has since taken legal action against several individuals, including Mr. Ganduje, his wife, son, and others, on charges related to corruption, misappropriation, and diversion of funds amounting to billions of naira. The charges specifically accuse Mr. Ganduje of receiving kickbacks and benefits from government contracts during his tenure as the Governor of Kano State.

Abdulazeez’s actions and the subsequent legal proceedings highlight the ongoing battle against corruption in Nigeria, shedding light on the complexities and challenges faced in addressing such issues. The support shown by Abdulazeez towards the anti-corruption efforts in Kano State serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and transparency in governance.

As the story unfolds, it underscores the significance of individuals taking a stand against corruption, regardless of their familial ties or personal interests. The pursuit of justice and integrity remains a crucial aspect of upholding democratic values and ensuring a fair and equitable society for all.
