Phyna, accompanied by her legal representative Olawale Amousa and Michael Obinna Nwabufo, the acting president of the Practitioners of Content Creating, Skit-making, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN), convened a meeting at the MultiChoice office on Thursday, April 18, 22024, to address the prize redemption issue.
“I just really want my BTC. It’s worth over ₦90m. I can’t leave it. Also, the trip for 2 is very important,” she emphasized.
The PCCSIGN intervened in the situation by sending a letter to the organizers, demanding the fulfillment of 1BTC= $70,052.00 by Quidax Global, a one-year supply of Pepsi products by Seven-Up Bottling Company, a trip for two to Dubai by Travelbeta, and a one-year supply of soap products by Evans Industries (Unik Soap) to Phyna.
In a statement released on Thursday, PCCSIGN revealed that an agreement with Pepsi and Unik Soap would be fulfilled on Friday, April 19, 2024.
However, Nwabufo mentioned that the proposals from Travelbeta and Quidax Global were rejected by the parties involved.
“The recent agreement between Pepsi and Unik Soap is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, Friday, April 19, 2024. While Travelbeta is offering a trip for 2 to Morocco or Kenya, which we declined the destination options because Phyna was initially offered the destination options of Maldives or Jamaica,” Nwabufo explained.
Regarding the 1 BTC matter, it was clarified that the exchange rate would reflect the 2022 Naira equivalent, amounting to N13 million.
“PCCSIGN and Phyna’s legal representatives declined the offer due to concerns about potential repercussions resulting from MultiChoice’s negligence,” it was stated.
“The acting president of PCCSIGN insisted that the agreed-upon 1 BTC should be based on the current exchange rate. MultiChoice has agreed to further discuss this matter with Quidax Global and provide a response to PCCSIGN and Phyna,” the statement concluded.
