Manchester United’s Casemiro recently opened up about the challenges he faced when trying to make the move from Real Madrid to the Red Devils. In a candid interview, the midfielder revealed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez initially tried to block his departure from the club.

Despite the reported €70.65 million transfer fee, Casemiro’s move to Manchester United was not a straightforward process. Perez’s reluctance to let go of the talented player caused some last-minute complications.

“When negotiations with Manchester United were reaching their final stages, Florentino Pérez was not in favor of me leaving. He didn’t even want to discuss the possibility of my departure from Real Madrid. I had to communicate with other individuals within the club to make it happen,” Casemiro disclosed in an interview with Chiringuito.

Despite the challenges he faced, Casemiro remains a devoted fan of Real Madrid. He confessed to feeling a mix of emotions while watching his former team’s recent victory over Manchester City in the Champions League.

“I felt a sense of pride watching Real Madrid play against City. I have a deep connection to the club and still consider myself a big fan. Seeing them succeed brings me joy. At the same time, I also have strong ties to Manchester United and was happy for them as well,” Casemiro shared.

Casemiro’s journey from Real Madrid to Manchester United may have had its obstacles, but his loyalty to both clubs remains unwavering. As he continues to excel on the field, fans can expect to see him bring his passion and dedication to every match he plays.
