D’banj Celebrates 20 Years in Music Industry with Electrifying Concert

D’banj, the iconic Nigerian musician, celebrated his 20th year in the music industry with a spectacular concert that left fans in awe. The event, hosted by Lasisi Elenu, kicked off with DJ Consequence spinning hit Afrobeats tunes while stand-up comedian Pencil entertained the crowd.

The highlight of the night was D’banj’s electrifying performance, accompanied by his 14-piece band, which included Grammy Award-winner Lekan Babalola and renowned guitarist Fiokee. The audience was taken on a musical journey through D’banj’s career, starting from his breakout hit “Mobolowowon” in 2004.

The concert featured a lineup of D’banj’s classic hits like “Why Me,” “Olorun Ma Je,” “Igwe,” “Suddenly,” “Endowed,” “On Top of The World,” “Give It To Me,” and “Tongolo.” Additionally, D’banj unveiled the title of his upcoming album, “The Entertainer (The Sequel).”

During the show, D’banj paused to acknowledge the intergenerational appeal of his music, with fans of all ages singing along to his songs. He also performed tracks from his new album, including collaborations with Zlatan, Timaya, Kayswitch, Bhadboi DML, and others.

The concert concluded with a special performance by Reekado Banks and intermittent hype by D’banj’s official MC Jimmy. D’banj expressed his gratitude to Trace for organizing the event, teasing that it was just a taste of what’s to come during his 20-year musical journey.

In partnership with D’Kings Men Media Limited and The Temple Company, D’banj announced a global city tour and initiatives to showcase African talent. Fans can anticipate the release of his new album, masterclasses, and exclusive meet-and-greet events in the near future.
