NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau, expressed his approval of the decisions, emphasizing the importance of justice in upholding the rule of law.
Addressing a gathering in Yola, Maikyau highlighted the significance of adherence to the constitution by government officials at all levels. He urged caution in decision-making, reminding them to always consider the legal implications of their actions.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, speaking at the NBA Emergency National Executive Committee meeting, called upon the legal fraternity to uphold the integrity of the judiciary and maintain public trust in the legal system. He emphasized the need to hold accountable those who undermine the principles of justice while recognizing and celebrating those who uphold integrity and patriotism.
Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman, the Chief Judge of Adamawa State, commended the judiciary for entrusting women with the responsibility of handling election petitions, highlighting the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the legal profession.
The gathering, which included legal professionals and government officials, discussed ways to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of the legal profession in Nigeria. The participants were urged to make decisions that would strengthen the role of the bar in upholding justice and the rule of law.
