Matthew Munro of Lamar finds himself behind bars again after a disturbing incident at his mother’s residence on Glover Street in Jersey Shore Borough. Only nine days after his release from the Clinton County Correctional Facility, Munro was involved in a domestic disturbance that prompted a police response.
According to Lycoming Regional Police reports Munro forcibly entered his mother’s home, causing significant distress to her. Upon her return from work, she discovered signs of forced entry and encountered Munro inside, who brazenly admitted to kicking the door down.
The situation escalated when Munro claimed to possess a loaded service weapon, threatening officers and escalating the danger. Despite attempts to peacefully resolve the situation, Munro resisted arrest and retreated into the residence.
A coordinated effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies ensued, resulting in Munro’s eventual arrest. Authorities seized firearms and drug paraphernalia from Munro’s possession.
Munro now faces charges including criminal trespass, possessing instruments of crime, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. He has been denied bail and remanded to Lycoming County Prison.
The incident prompted a swift and comprehensive response from various agencies, ensuring the safety of the community amidst the crisis.
