A video circulating on social media showing Nigerian singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, prostrating before billionaire socialite Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, allegedly a notorious smuggler, has sparked widespread outrage.
IBD Dende, a figure well-known in Nigerian social circles for his perceived wealth and influence, has been the subject of allegations and controversies, particularly regarding his alleged involvement in smuggling activities. Investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo previously exposed Dende’s purported role in smuggling operations, including a viral report where he was seen threatening a customs officer who intercepted his contraband goods.
In the video, Teni appears visibly excited to meet Dende, enthusiastically greeting him with her hands before ultimately prostrating in front of him. However, netizens were quick to criticize Teni for what they deemed as inappropriate behavior, questioning the propriety of her actions, especially given the controversies surrounding Dende’s reputation.
