NECO Digitalizes Recruitment for Exam Supervisors

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has transitioned to a digital recruitment process for Examination Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal and External. This move, as highlighted by Azeez Sani, NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication, aims to curb malpractices while enhancing efficiency and service delivery.

The digitalization initiative involves migrating from manual recruitment to an online system, streamlining processes for generating nomination forms, appointment letters, and supervisors’ e-photo albums. Additionally, the routine swapping of supervisors during examinations will now be facilitated online, ensuring smoother logistics management.

Qualified teachers with NCE, degrees, master’s degrees, PhDs, and professors are eligible to apply as supervisors and assistant supervisors for BECE or SSCE internal or external examinations. This digital transformation marks a significant departure from NECO’s previous manual recruitment system, underscoring the council’s commitment to embracing technology to improve operations and maintain integrity in the examination process.
