The absence of a father-son reunion appears to stem from tensions related to comments made by Harry about Queen Camilla in his book Spare. Sources close to the royal family suggest that Harry’s remarks have caused strain in his relationship with King Charles and Camilla.
According to a friend of the King and Queen, Harry’s public criticism of Camilla has put Charles in a difficult position, as he is torn between his sons and his wife. The insider revealed, “Harry has made it very clear, very publicly, that he despises her. He has forced Charles to choose, which was a very silly thing to do because Camilla and he both chose each other a long time ago.”
The rift between Harry and the royal family appears to be deepening, with one of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s associates expressing little surprise at Charles’s decision not to extend an invitation to Harry.
