In a tragic incident that has shocked the community, six-year-old Aisha Saidu was brutally murdered by a suspected kidnapper in Makarfi local government area of Kaduna State.

The perpetrator, identified as Abdulazeez Idris, confessed to the heinous crime, revealing that he killed the innocent child by slashing her neck with a razor blade after she recognized him. He then disposed of her lifeless body in a well.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, the father of the victim, Mr. Saidu Dahiru, reported the disappearance of his daughter on February 12, 2024. Aisha had gone missing on her way to Islamiyya school, allegedly abducted by her cousin brother, Abdulazeez Idris.

Mr. Dahiru received a ransom demand of ₦8,000,000 (eight million naira) from an unknown individual, later identified as the perpetrator. The case was subsequently transferred to the Anti Kidnapping Unit of SCID Kaduna, leading to the arrest of Abdulazeez Idris in Makarfi Local Government.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Ali Dabigi, has assured the public of a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served for Aisha Saidu and her grieving family. The suspect will be charged to court once the investigation is completed.
