Peter Obi Pays Condolence Visit to Family of Late Nollywood Actor Junior Pope

In a show of compassion and solidarity, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has paid a heartfelt visit to the family of the late Nollywood actor, Junior Pope. The visit, which took place on Saturday, saw Obi signing the condolence register as a mark of respect and remembrance for the late actor.

Nollywood actor and former spokesperson of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo, shared the news of the visit on his Instagram page. The pictures and videos posted by Okonkwo captured the solemnity of the occasion, with Obi offering his condolences to the family of Junior Pope.

Junior Pope, whose real name is John Paul Odonwodo, tragically passed away on April 10, 2024, after his boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a film location. He was laid to rest at his hometown, Ukehe in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, on Friday.

The visit by Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, underscores the impact of Junior Pope’s untimely death on the Nigerian entertainment industry and the broader public. His gesture of condolence serves as a reminder of the unity and compassion that transcends political divides in times of grief.
