Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has called on the people of Taraba State to maintain peace and support Governor Agbu Kefas. This plea comes in the wake of Governor Kefas’s decision to appoint a first class Chief of Takum, a position that has been vacant for over 28 years, which has sparked controversy among some tribes.
In a statement by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Primate Ayodele emphasized that the governor’s decision to install a first class Chief of Takum was made with good intentions for the state. He urged the aggrieved tribes not to let the issue of the new king lead to conflict, as it is meant to bring peace, happiness, and joy to the state.
“Anyone who fights about the new king is an enemy of the state. Kefas is God’s project who has come to Taraba to do good for the people,” Primate Ayodele stated.
He reiterated that the kingship installation should not be a cause for crisis, as Governor Kefas is not seeking to mislead the people. Primate Ayodele called on traditional rulers to rule with the fear of God and to do the right thing at all times.
“In the next 10 months, the governor will do so much for the youths, old people, and the vulnerable. Let us wait and see. The governor hasn’t come to mislead you but to do it better,” he said.
Primate Ayodele concluded by urging everyone to pray for Governor Kefas’s success and to maintain peace in the state.
