Nigerian singer Oritsefemi Majemite Ekele, popularly known as Oritsefemi, has claimed to be the godfather of his fellow artists Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido. In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Oritsefemi stated that he had already achieved financial success in the music industry before these artists rose to fame and that he encouraged them to pursue music.

“I had already made money [from the music industry] when some people were sleeping [yet to come into limelight],” Oritsefemi said. “Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, so many of them [young artists], I encouraged them. I’m like their godfather.”

He also mentioned that he provided support to many female celebrities and even accommodated Burna Boy in his mansion in Lekki during their early days in the industry.
