Diddy apologizes for 2016 assault video of ex-girlfriend Cassie

Music mogul Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, is facing public backlash after a video emerged showing him assaulting his former label signee and ex-girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway back in 2016. The disturbing footage, obtained by CNN, depicts Diddy kicking and throwing objects at Cassie.

Diddy has since taken to social media to issue a public apology. In a video message, he admitted that his behaviour in the video was “inexcusable” and took “full responsibility” for his actions. He expressed deep regret with a simple “I’m so sorry.”

Despite public outcry, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has stated that they will not pursue charges against Diddy due to the incident falling outside the statute of limitations for assault prosecution.
